The French ski resort of Val Cenis, located on the border with Italy
Val Cenis is made up of 2 separate ski villages - Val Cenis Lanslebourg, and Val Cenis Lanslevillard. The top skiing at 2800m offers some good snow quantity / quality and the ski area is linked to the nearby resort of Termignon la Vanoise. There are a total of 80km of ski pistes in Val Cenis with the majority being classified intermediate. The artificial snow-making capacity in Val Cenis has expanded in the last year. Val Cenis is relatively sedate and is ideal for families with free lift passes for children under 5. Away from the slopes there is a leisure complex with pool and Jacuzzi, as well as paragliding. Dog sled riding and an outdoor, natural ice rink are also on offer. Après ski in Val Cenis is relatively quiet.
