Flaine offers a large linked ski area to neighbouring ski holiday resorts. A good lift system and off piste skiing are some of the highlights, although the low altitude of the lower skiing is prone to snow unreliability. The holiday resort is located at 1600m and although architecturally functional it does ensure good snow reliability.

The Canadian giant of ski resorts, Intrawest has teamed up with the French owners and is embarking on a development phase for the ski resort. New and less functional architecture is planned and there is an expansion of the snow making infrastructure planned so that the issue of low level snow reliability can be addressed. The ski area best serves the beginner and intermediate but there are expansive off-piste areas and steeps which after new snow offer advanced terrain.
