The ski resort of Morzine in the Portes du Soleil
A favourite for its charming resort that is close to Geneva and located on the Portes du Soleil.
Neighbouring Avoriaz, the ski resort of Morzine offers much the same benefits in terms of location – it is ideally located for flights into Geneva and is part of the massive Portes du Soleil ski area; reputed to be the worlds biggest. Whilst the resort altitude of 1000m is something of a local snow resource concern, the resort has both good snow record as well as artificial snow provision. The resort is unusually French compared to its neighbours and retains its charm with local markets and chalet accommodation. The skiing is predominantly on-piste and suited to the beginner or intermediate. For more advanced skiing the Portes du Soleil offers visitors to Morzine the opportunity to explore a massive ski area.
